King's Oak by Anne Rivers Siddons
Book Number RC 32806
4 sound cassettes

Diana "Andy" Andropoulis marries Chris Calhoun to get away from her father,
but it is a disastrous marriage. So she and her daughter Hilary move to
Pemberton, a small Georgia town near Big Silver Swamp and the
Stratton-Fournier Atomic Weapons Plant. Andy finds herself drawn to Tom
Dabney, a man passionately committed to nature. But can she trust a man who
goes to such extremes to protect nature? Strong language and explicit
description of sex
Yes, one more reread of a Siddons book. If I had to choose a favorite of
her books, this one would be in my top 5. Luckily, I don't have to choose.
Once again, Siddons weaves a tale of magic, the beauty and the horror of
nature and the human twist that she is known for. This story is rich with
characters that I love and some I hate. From the very young to the very
old, she has it all in this one. Ancient myths, legends and rituals pull a
little band of people together. The fight for the future gets tangled up
with the struggle for the past. A definite 5 out of 5.
